Malaysia's oldest woman dies aged 128

SEREMBAN (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Malaysia's oldest woman died at her home from natural causes on Thursday (Oct 26) aged 128.

Safiah Ujang, whose identity card states that she was born on Feb 11, 1889, died in Kg Seberang Batu Hampar near Rembau at around 1pm.

Rembau OCPD DSP Ibrahim Sharif said police received a report of Safiah's death on Thursday.

He added that Safiah was laid to rest at a Muslim cemetery in her village after Asar prayers Thursday afternoon.

She is survived by her son Abdul Ghani Daud, 74, six grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
