KUALA LUMPUR - A wild clouded leopard shocked residents of a city neighbourhood in Gombak, in Malaysia’s Selangor state, after it was found roaming a housing area in the wee hours on Sept 8, reported Malaysian daily Harian Metro.

Shocked residents of Taman Sri Gombak Heights spotted the big cat resting calmly on the roof of a small shed within the compound of a home at about 1am before calling the authorities.

The Kuala Lumpur Civil Defence Force was swiftly dispatched to the scene where they identified the animal as an adult clouded leopard.

“Upon arrival, our personnel saw the leopard lying on the shed roof beside the perimeter wall,” an APM spokesman said.

“It took nearly 20 minutes to capture the animal using a net.”

The wild cat was handed over to the Kuala Lumpur Wildlife and National Parks Department.
