JAKARTA - Areas around the Bundaran HI roundabout in central Jakarta will be put on high-level security watch for New Year's Eve as Indonesia is facing risks from the local militants after ISIS founder Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was killed in October in an American raid.
"Tensions and emotions are high among the militants, stemming from Baghdadi's death, Uighur issues, among others. These incidents have fuelled sentiments and agitation for amaliyah (attack)," said a government source who spoke on condition of anonymity, and based his assessment on gathered intelligence information.
