KUALA LUMPUR - Umno lawmaker Ismail Sabri Yaakob is an experienced hand in the top levels of government, having held various Cabinet posts for more than 10 years, including as deputy prime minister in the Muhyiddin Yassin administration that collapsed on Monday (Aug 16).

Datuk Seri Ismail, who is leading the race to become the next prime minister, raised his profile among Malaysian leaders in the past year as the public face of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government.
