BANGKOK – A folksy tune played over and over as incumbent Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha made his appearance on stage last Friday in a Bangkok park.
“Uncle Tu, Uncle Tu, where is he? He’s not far, not near. He’s with the Ruam Thai Sang Chart,” the refrain went, referring to Mr Prayut by his nickname “Uncle Tu”.
