Bersih 4 was a series of planned rallies in Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu and Kuching on Aug 29 and 30. The rallies were organised by Bersih 2.0, a coalition of non-government organisations which seeks to reform the current electoral system in Malaysia to ensure free, clean and fair elections. The weekend rallies called for clean governance in Malaysia and sought the resignation of Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak. They were a followup to similar rallies in 2007, 2011 and 2012. The rallies happened just before Malaysia's National Day which falls on Aug 31.
