JAKARTA - For now, it is a dusty red patch of degraded plantation, a short drive west of Semarang on the north shore of Central Java.
But if everything goes to plan, the 4,300ha Batang Industrial Estate will be open for business by the beginning of next year, tapping demand from manufacturers diversifying from China.
