PETALING JAYA – Another video of Malaysia’s former prime minister Mahathir Mohamad has gone viral, this time involving a “search” for his purported billions.
In an 86-second video posted on X on Jan 12, Tun Dr Mahathir is seen looking around his home for RM3 billion (S$916 million) allegedly in his possession.
He looks behind his TV and under the sofa, then goes to a bedroom and looks under the bed.
Dr Mahathir says in the video he has been looking for the money for two years but has yet to find it.
“Looking for RM3 billion, which was supposed to be with me. But it still can’t be found,” he says in the video, as quoted by Sinar Harian on Jan 13.
His tongue-in-cheek “confession” is seen as a clapback at allegations that he amassed billions of ringgit during his term as prime minister.
