The incident occurred near a hot spring in Bentong, where the helicopter, transporting equipment for cable installation, was completely destroyed by fire.

Initial reports suggest the fire ignited during the helicopter’s landing attempt, causing the aircraft to overturn and catch fire. Bentong officer-in-charge Zaiham Mohd Kahar confirmed the incident.

“The fire involved a transport helicopter, which was 100 per cent destroyed.

“An Indonesian engineer died after being struck by a helicopter rotor blade. We managed to control the fire by about 11.06am, and the victim’s body has been handed over to the police for further action,” the spokesperson said. THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK
