JOHOR BARU (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Two people were killed when a car rammed into them as they were trying to assist two victims of an earlier crash.

Johor Baru North OCPD Assistant Commissioner of Police Mohd Taib Ahmad said the accident occurred at 4.15am on Saturday (July 8) on Jalan Johor Baru-Ayer Hitam near Skudai.

"Initial investigations show that a group of motorists were assisting the victims from a separate incident when the car ploughed into them," ACP Mohd Taib said in a statement.

It is understood that three motorcyclists were on their way to Singapore when they noticed the previous accident and stopped to help.

Two of them were killed on the spot when the car, driven by a 29-year-old man, rammed into them. Another person as well as the two drivers of the previous accident were seriously hurt.

The three injured victims were sent to Hospital Sultanah Aminah for treatment.
