Dr Vivian Balakrishnan meets Malaysian ministers to discuss wide-ranging bilateral issues

SINGAPORE - Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan on Thursday (Jan 30) made a working visit to Malaysia, where he had meetings with various Malaysian ministers on various bilateral issues.

In Putrajaya, Dr Balakrishnan met Malaysian Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullah, Malaysian Minister of Water, Land, and Natural Resources Xavier Jayakumar, Malaysian Economic Affairs Minister Azmin Ali, and Malaysian Transport Minister Anthony Loke, said the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in a statement.

In Kuala Lumpur, he met Malaysian Home Affairs Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.

"During the meetings, Minister Balakrishnan and the various Malaysian ministers had wide-ranging discussions on bilateral issues and on ways to further strengthen ties between Singapore and Malaysia," said the statement.

Dr Balakrishnan returns to Singapore on Thursday evening.
