Asean needs tangible outcomes from special summit on Myanmar

Some trends are becoming clear more than 10 weeks after the coup in Myanmar.

The first is that the death toll, which has exceeded 700, is set to climb further as the junta resorts to more deadly means to curb the unrest. The second is that there remains very little appetite for direct foreign intervention beyond sanctions and tough talk.
