JOHOR BARU – The six-year-old girl who went missing in Johor is seeing a child psychologist, according to her mother.
Ms Leo Qieo Xin, 37, posted on Facebook a picture and a short video clip of the two of them waiting for their turn at a paediatric clinic in a public hospital here.
“Mummy is here to cheer you up. You will definitely get better,” she said, adding that her daughter is seeing a psychologist as she is experiencing emotional stress.
Meanwhile, Johor police chief M. Kumar said the motive behind the girl’s abduction will be established soon. He said this was after police found new leads in their investigation on the main suspect
“The suspect has been remanded until Saturday. We hope in a couple of days, we would be able to establish the motive behind the victim’s abduction,” he told a press conference at the state police headquarters on Aug 6.
Commissioner Kumar also said that initial investigations found the suspect had acted alone and has no ties with criminal groups.
On Aug 4, the suspect was rearrested and remanded for further investigations. Previously, he was remanded for 13 days from July 23 to assist in investigations before he was released on bail.
The girl was reported missing by her father on July 20
