- Just a month after

the Labour Party swept to power in the United Kingdom,

its newly minted foreign secretary is said to be planning a trip to China to recalibrate ties under the new government.

The UK’s relations with the world’s second-largest economy are one of its most important and complex bilateral relationships to manage, and a key priority for Mr David Lammy, who was appointed his country’s top diplomat in early July.
