On a bustling thoroughfare in inner-city Sydney stands a 19th-century Victorian Gothic church that has not had congregants in decades, but is about to receive a new lease of life.
The church, called The Kirk, once served the local Methodist community in Surry Hills, a working-class suburb that has transformed in recent decades into an increasingly affluent neighbourhood known for its cafes, restaurants and bars.
