HONG KONG – It’s not Hong Kong’s highest mountain, nor the hardest one to scale. Yet Lion Rock holds a place in the hearts of many Hong Kongers that the city’s range of other peaks can never top.
Hong Kong’s Lion Rock mountain is so iconic that it has – over the past five decades – been a key feature in a popular local drama series, an evergreen Cantonese song, officials’ speeches, government campaigns and even anti-government ones.
