The South Korean police are investigating the death of a newborn baby on a flight from the Philippines to Incheon, reported The Korea Herald, citing Korean news agency Yonhap.

The infant was reportedly born aboard the Jeju Air plane, which touched down at the Incheon International Airport at 6.21am (5.21am Singapore time) on June 1.

South Korean authorities received a report at 6.44am that a baby aboard a plane was not breathing. The infant was taken to a hospital while in cardiac arrest, but was subsequently pronounced dead.

The police are investigating the case, and the child’s mother was said to be a Philippine national in her 30s, Yonhap reported.
