A Singaporean woman convicted of stalking and harassing a Taiwanese singer did not learn her lesson, and was apprehended after confronting the victim less than three months later.

Cassandra Low was caught on camera harassing the celebrity at a Taipei hair salon. The police had to remove her from the scene.

Low, who is in her 30s, was sentenced by a Taiwanese court to

a six-month prison term

on June 5, with the option of commuting it to a NT$1,000 (S$43) in lieu of each day of her jail term.

She was found guilty of endangering the personal safety of Olivia Tsao, a multiple winner of the Golden Melody Awards, in addition to stalking and publicly insulting the singer in crimes dating back to more than a year ago.

On Aug 26, Low showed up outside a hair salon in Taipei and attempted to block Ms Tsao from leaving the salon.

In video clips posted online by the salon owner, Low is seen trying to stop him from recording her with his phone amid requests to speak to Ms Tsao.

She is later seen being escorted away by two police officers.

Low was taken to a Taipei district prosecutor on Aug 27 and ordered to post bail of NT$50,000, Taiwanese media reported. She claimed to not have the money and was ordered to stay confined to her hotel.

Her sentence was meant to begin in September, after which she would be deported from Taiwan.

Ms Tsao’s appearance at the hair salon in the popular tourist district of Ximending was reportedly posted on the salon’s social media platforms.

“I truly know what it feels like to be so angry to the point of fainting,” the singer wrote on Instagram.

Her agent also said Ms Tsao has been seriously affected by the latest developments and is expected to push back some of her engagements.
