An earthquake of magnitude 5.7 struck off the east coast of Honshu, Japan, on Dec 10, the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre said.

The quake was at a depth of 31km, EMSC said. It earlier put the magnitude at 6.5 and depth at 57km.

There were no immediate reports of damage after the quake. REUTERS
