SEOUL – Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with a North Korean senior official in Moscow on Feb 27, North Korea’s state news agency said on March 1.
In the Kremlin, Mr Putin met Mr Ri Hi Yong, a member of North Korea’s ruling Workers’ Party’s Central Committee Politburo and secretary of the party’s central committee.
Mr Putin expressed his gratitude for North Korea’s active support of Russia, the KCNA news agency reported, demonstrating the strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
North Korea has deployed thousands of troops to support Russian forces fighting in Ukraine, according to Ukrainian, US and South Korean assessments. REUTERS
