BEIJING - When Hei An Li Zhi wanted to be a Web novelist - one who writes fiction online - in 2015, her parents were strongly against the idea because they did not consider it a proper career.
"They threw away my network router, which I needed to access the Internet," she told The Sunday Times, adding that she would sometimes go on writing retreats - for months on end - to avoid the tension at home.
