TOKYO (Reuters) - An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.8 hit the Kumamoto prefecture in southern Japan on Monday (April 18), the Japan Meteorological Agency said.
Broadcaster NHK said a tsunami warning had not been issued.
Two deadly quakes hit the same region last week, killing at least 42 and injuring more than 1,000.
