TOKYO - An earthquake with magnitude 4.9 occurred near Tokyo on Sunday (June 12) morning, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS).
Japanese media put the magnitude of the quake at 5.
It struck the Kanto region, but there was no danger of a tsunami, Japan Today reported quoting the Japan Meteorological Agency.
There were no immediate reports of injuries, it said.
The quake struck at 7.54 am in the southern part of Ibaraki Prefecture at a depth of 40 kilometers, the agency said.
