China bristled at a

historic summit

involving the United States and its two Asian allies, Japan and South Korea, with state media on Saturday blasting it as a “hypocritical anti-China pantomime”.

Both the Global Times and China Daily said the meeting’s hidden objective is to form a “mini-Nato”, referring to the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation military alliance of 31 European and North American member states.
