Panda breeding expert Li Guo remembers how challenging his job was when he first started working at the China Conservation and Research Centre for the Giant Panda (CCRCGP) in 2004.
"Back then, (getting the pandas to mate) was very difficult... We would spend a lot of effort trying to determine when a female would go into heat, and then match her with many different males to try and get them to mate," said Mr Li, 40.
