TOKYO - As Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe unveiled his new Cabinet on Wednesday (Sept 11), he vowed that his team will spare no effort to revise, for the first time in history, Japan's pacifist Constitution.
Experts see Mr Abe, 64, as attempting to do so by surrounding himself with those who are ideologically similar and by curbing dissent, with the Premier due to step down by September 2021 after the end of his third consecutive three-year term as chief of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP).
