A Singaporean man was killed in a car crash near Perth on Monday (June 5), Australian media reported.
The man was reportedly driving along the Indian Ocean Drive south of Lancelin, a small town north of Perth, when it crashed with another vehicle, The West Australian reported on Monday.
The man died on the scene. His partner and two children were taken to hospital, along with the driver of the other vehicle.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told The Straits Times on Tuesday that it expresses its deepest condolences to the family of the Singaporean who perished in the tragic car accident in Perth, Australia.
"The Singapore High Commission in Canberra has sent a consular officer to Perth to provide the necessary assistance to the family and their next-of-kin during this difficult time," said the spokesman.
Australian news channel 9News said the man's family received injuries that were not life-threatening.
As a result of the crash, the coastal road was closed in both directions for almost six hours.
