SYDNEY - Australia is expanding its capability to capture and store carbon emissions under the sea despite concerns that this much-hyped method of dealing with emissions is ineffective and too expensive.
New legislation in Australia is set to enable carbon dioxide (CO2) that is captured from mining and industrial sites to be imported or exported and then pumped deep under the seabed to prevent it from escaping.
