SYDNEY (REUTERS) - A powerful earthquake of magnitude 6.3 struck Papua New Guinea on Thursday (Nov 30), several global monitoring groups said.

The quake hit at 0250 GMT (10.50am Singapore time on Friday) at a depth of 60km, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre.

No tsunami warning was immediately issued.
