The free travel for national servicemen on Friday applies to all rail- and bus-operated services (Make it easy for NSmen to take free train rides, by Mr Elvis Zhang Haowei; June 26).

Singapore Armed Forces and Home Team NSmen in uniform will travel for free on the rail services of SBS Transit's Downtown Line, North-East Line and Sengkang and Punggol LRT, and also on SMRT's Circle Line, North-South and East-West Lines and Bukit Panjang LRT.

SMRT will deploy additional staff during peak hours to facilitate passenger flow.

NSmen will use the open side gate next to farecard gates when entering or leaving MRT stations operated by SMRT.

There may be operational challenges on the ground, but we take this in good spirit in wanting to express our appreciation to NSmen.
