TAIPEI - The memes came fast and furious.

As soon as Taiwan’s opposition parties registered separate presidential candidates on Nov 24 following a dramatic televised spat, social media was flooded with memes depicting Taiwanese Vice-President Lai Ching-te gleefully eating popcorn and enjoying the debacle.
