May, ministers to discuss Brexit deal

British Prime Minister Theresa May will host senior ministers at her country residence Chequers today to try to broker an agreement between her party's different factions on how best to exit the European Union. She is then expected to set out her plans in a speech in the next few weeks, before formal trade talks begin next month.


Firms celebrate 'every man's birthday'

Several companies are marking the seventh day of Chinese New Year, known as ren ri ("every man's birthday"), with special events today. The staff of hotel Royal Plaza on Scotts, for example, will be tossing a 28m-long yusheng dish, while travel agency Contiki is holding an open house for 80 people.


Road map for marine, offshore sector

The Marine and Offshore Engineering Industry Transformation Map will be launched today, in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the Association of Singapore Marine Industries.

Despite the short-term volatility, the long-term outlook for the marine and offshore engineering industry continues to be positive, and it remains an important part of the Singapore's economy.
