Real activists become casualties in Facebook crackdown

WASHINGTON • Genuine American political activists have criticised Facebook's decision to unilaterally remove an event page last Tuesday, one of 32 pages and accounts that the social media giant said were involved in spreading propaganda and trying to influence the forthcoming mid-term elections.

The event, a counter-protest to a right-wing rally in Washington, was organised by a collection of anti-fascist, anti-racist, socialist and anarchist groups.
