BEIJING - China is likely to stand by Russian President Vladimir Putin, even as a dramatic but short-lived mutiny in Russia over the weekend put a dent in his hold on power, experts said.

A meeting between Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko in Beijing on Sunday was seen as a demonstration of support for the Russian leader.
