Ransomware hackers switching targets from other countries to Singapore

SINGAPORE - Hackers involved in ransomeware attacks are shifting their focus from other countries to target Singapore.

The Republic's share of such focused attacks worldwide jumped from No. 44 in the first six months of 2019 to No. 21 in the first half of last year, and rose again to No. 11 in the period from January to June this year, said cybersecurity firm Trend Micro.
