Singapore's most popular blogs and favourite influencers will be announced tonight at the Singapore Blog Awards, the annual flagship event of omy.sg, Singapore Press Holdings' bilingual news and entertainment portal. Now in its eighth year, the award recognises bloggers who have developed their writing specialty through categories in areas such as beauty, health and wellness, and cooking.

CPI for June out today

Singapore's consumer price index for June will be released today. Inflation is likely to remain subdued on the back of falling certificate of entitlement prices for cars and a moderating property market as the Government's property cooling measures continue to exert downward pressure on home prices. Analysts reckon inflation for the full year is on track to hover at 0.5 per cent.

US Senate hearing on Iran nuclear deal

United States President Barack Obama is sending Cabinet secretaries - Mr John Kerry, Dr Ernest Moniz and Mr Jacob Lew - to pitch to a Senate committee today a recently signed nuclear agreement with Iran which has drawn objections from lawmakers from both parties.

Many Republican lawmakers have denounced the accord as inadequate, and a number of Democrats are sceptical as well.
