Visitors to the Supertree Grove last night enjoying a preview of the lanterns that will be on display at the annual Mid-Autumn Festival at Gardens by the Bay.

Around 300 lamps, handmade by mastercraftsmen from Sichuan, China, were undergoing a light test before the festival is officially launched tomorrow.

The event will run till Oct 4 and includes a lantern painting competition, food street and free nightly cultural performances.

It is being organised by Gardens by the Bay in partnership with the Chinese Media Group of Singapore Press Holdings, the National Arts Council and People's Association. Admission is free.
