Police arrest man suspected of stabbing girlfriend with scissors

A woman in her twenties was stabbed by her male friend with a pair of scissors following an argument.

The incident took place at Block 142B, Pasir Ris Street 11, on Saturday night, according to Shinmin Daily News.

It reported that residents heard a woman screaming at the void deck at about 10.45pm. When they went to investigate, they saw a woman sitting on a stone chair at the pavilion while her male friend was seated on the floor. He had blood on his face and shirt, while the woman was bleeding on both her arms.

The area around them was stained with blood. A pair of blood-stained red scissors was seen near them.

It is believed that the duo were having an argument when he stabbed her with a pair of scissors. Some joggers around the area offered help to the injured woman, reports said.

The woman was taken to Changi General Hospital, while the man was arrested by the police. Police are investigating the case.
