SINGAPORE - The buzz returns to Orchard Road on Saturday with Pedestrian Night, when the public will be able to take part in various activities along a closed stretch of Singapore's popular shopping strip.

'Pedestrian Night on Orchard', held on the first Saturday of the month, was revived in July and will run till the end of the year.

From 6pm to 11pm, Orchard Road (between Scotts and Bideford roads) and the carriageway of Mount Elizabeth in the direction of Orchard Road (between Nutmeg and Orchard roads) will be closed to vehicles to facilitate the event.

During the road closures, access will be granted only to police and emergency vehicles.

Parking restrictions along the peripheral roads will be strictly enforced, the police said. Vehicles found parked indiscriminately and causing obstruction will be towed.

The initiative is led by Orchard Road Business Association (Orba) and supported by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB).

For further enquiries, members of the public may contact the organiser at 9778 1235.
