SINGAPORE - Three people were injured in a five-vehicle accident that caused congestion along Woodlands Avenue 12, in the direction of the Seletar Expressway (SLE), on Thursday (April 21) morning.

The Singapore Police Force (SPF), in response to queries, said it was alerted to the accident, which involved two cars, two lorries and a bus, at around 6.49am.

Eyewitness Erda Waty had warned motorists in a Facebook post at 7.33am to avoid the road.

"Any vehicles driving along this road must be vigilant to any vehicles making a U-turn. Sometimes they misjudge the speed of an oncoming vehicle and try their luck to turn," she wrote.

She also uploaded a photo which showed Traffic Police officers and a Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) ambulance at the scene.

A SCDF spokesman said it dispatched two ambulances. The three injured were conveyed conscious to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.

A photo posted by user Moses Lima on the Singapore Taxi Driver's Facebook page showed an overturned lorry next to a blue bus.

Another Facebook user, Ms Chelsea Rodrigues, reported that two lanes were closed.

Police investigations are ongoing.
