SINGAPORE - Lawyer M. Ravi has been dropped from the line-up of speakers at a pending conference organised by the Law Society.
Mr Ravi, 43, who was due to speak at the Constitutional and Administrative Law Conference later this month, denounced the move, calling it "derogatory and oppressive".
He was suspended from practice last week by the Law Society, pending an assessment of his medical condition by his consultant psychiatrist. The move was triggered by serious concerns raised about his conduct in the days preceding the ban.
The Law Society indicated at the time of the ban that it was not precluded from taking further action following treatment of his medical condition.
