Two charged over slashing of teen in Yio Chu Kang

Two teenagers were charged in court yesterday with hurting another with a knife.

Muhammad Taufiq Mohamad Raffi and Sivaraj Manickam, both 18, are accused of slashing 17-year-old Muhammad Nasrun Isa on his head, back and left arm in Yio Chu Kang Road at about 5pm on Monday.

The duo were arrested in Buangkok Crescent and Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 on Thursday.

They have been remanded for a week and will appear in court again on Friday.

The maximum punishment for causing hurt with a dangerous weapon is seven years' jail, a fine and caning.
