Candid views on private education shared in national conversation

About 40 students from private institution PSB Academy gathered to take part in the second phase of the national conversation on Wednesday night.

Held at PSB Academy's Bukit Ho Swee campus, the session was focused on the challenges faced by those pursuing their studies in private education institutions.

It was organised by Tanglin-Cairnhill Citizens' Consultative Committee and PSB Academy as part of Our Singapore Conversation.

Divided into four groups, the students engaged frankly on various issues, such as how people view private education; challenges faced when pursuing an academic qualification upgrade; how to balance work and studies; as well as what possible schemes or policies could help in the pursuit of higher education.

Also present was grassroots adviser Ms Indranee Rajah, who is also Senior Minister of State for Education and Law.

She moved from group to group to listen intently to the different discussions.
