How the new commander of US forces in Asia sees the growing China challenge

Before his retirement last week, the admiral who for the past three years managed US military forces in the Asia-Pacific region delivered a simple, stark message: “The security environment is the most dangerous I’ve seen in 40 years in uniform.” 

The comments by Admiral John Aquilino came during a US congressional committee hearing in March as he pointed to the growing cooperation between China, Russia and North Korea.
