SPH Magazines top choice of advertisers and marketers

SINGAPORE - Magazines published by SPH Magazines have proven to be popular among advertisers and readers in Singapore, two new surveys show.

The publications topped seven major categories in a recent poll of advertisers and marketers by trade journal Marketing.

SPH Magazines dominated the women's market with Her World, CLEO and The Singapore Women's Weekly ranked the top three women's magazines of the year.

For its survey, Marketing magazine polled more than 700 professionals from marketing agencies and advertisers including major banks, property developers, telecommunications firms and travel companies.

Other SPH Magazines publications also performed well. Female and Harper's Bazaar were named the top two women's fashion magazines of the year.

SilverKris, published by SPH Magazines for Singapore Airlines, was voted in-flight magazine of the year while Business Quotient (BizQ) magazine, published for the Singapore Business Federation, was ranked second in the Local Business Magazine category.

Men's Health, Torque, Young Parents and HardwareMAG (HWM) were placed top in their respective categories.

"SPH Magazines is delighted that our titles remain top in the minds of advertisers in key market segments," said Mr Loh Yew Seng, chief executive of SPH Magazines.

He added that the company has been improving the content of its titles and making them accessible on digital platforms. It has 70 titles on tablets and iPads.

Meanwhile in the Nielsen Media Index 2014 results, Her World - which has a readership of 169,000 - was also named the most popular monthly women's magazine.

In the Nielsen Media Index 2014, SPH Magazines' titles swept the top five spots among monthly women's magazines. Men's Health, Home and Decor, and Young Parents also had the highest readership in their respective categories. A total of 4,686 people were surveyed on their media consumption habits for the index.
