Singapore - Stats ChipPac Ltd said on Monday that it has been served by ERS Electronic GMBH with a writ of summons claiming that the company has infringed its patents relating to debonder machines used in wafer level package assembly process.

It does not expect this action to have a material financial impact.

The company said it has sought legal advice and is of the opinion that the claim is groundless and without merit and intends to take all necessary steps to vigorously defend the claim, including but not limited to, a counterclaim for revocation of the patents which the company has been alleged to infringe.
