Singaporeans are in for an ice-cold Milo treat soon, thanks to Sing! China finalist Nathan Hartono.

Nestle, which carries the Milo beverage, told The Straits Times yesterday it is readying its Milo vans after Hartono said he would treat everyone to iced Milo if he wins in the Chinese television singing contest.

In an interview published online last Saturday, the home-grown singer said of the finals on Friday: "If I win, I will rent a fleet of Milo vans and treat everybody to Milo peng (iced Milo)."

Nestle responded on its Facebook page last Saturday, saying: "Nathan, win or lose, Milo will support you all the way! No need to rent, also can. Just tell us where, we bring the van."

It also asked Singaporeans to suggest where the Milo vans should be placed.

In response to queries, Nestle told The Straits Times yesterday that, regardless of the results on Friday, it will proceed with the mobilisation of its Milo vans.

Mr Chow Phee Chat, marketing communications and corporate affairs director of Nestle Singapore, said: "We understand that great achievements, such as Nathan's, do not happen overnight. A lot of hard work, sweat and tenacity are needed. Our support with the Milo vans is a show of our appreciation for the efforts of all Singaporeans, including home-grown talents like Nathan."

Hartono received the highest scores during the Sing! China semi-finals last week to emerge the front runner to win the contest.
