Growing up, Mrs Carol Gockel felt unattractive.
As a child, she was told she was too tall, too tanned, and had crooked teeth. Her childhood sweetheart, whom she married at 22, constantly derided her over her adult acne and bra cup size. He encouraged her to wear push-up bras and low-cut tops that left her feeling vulgar. At his behest, she even went under the knife to increase her cup size from an A to a C.
