1. DAZZLING CAFE PINK

Fans of the first Dazzling Cafe at Capitol Piazza can head to its dining and shopping branch at Orchard Gateway, which has a carnival theme.

Shoppers can check out jewellery and accessory brands such as Vita Fede, Vanessa Mooney, Hipanema, Momo March and Evocateur.

New menu items include lobster cold capellini ($26.90), oven-baked snapper with roasted eggplant ($20.90), pulled pork burger ($19.90), Asian-style roast pork belly ($19.90) and Norwegian smoked salmon Eggs Benedict ($23.90), along with its signature mentaiko pasta ($18.90).

More sweet treats have been added to the menu, including Oreo chocolate honey toast ($18.90), pandan milk tea honey toast ($18.90, photo 1) and matcha waffle with azuki beans ($14.90).

2. ARYAA

Aryaa restaurant takes diners on the culinary journey of conqueror and king of Macedonia, Alexander the Great.

The menus are themed according to his conquests in Greece and India.

The Greek menu features dishes such as garides saganaki (prawns baked with tomato, garlic and herbs and feta cheese) and lamb or vegetarian moussaka.

From the Indian menu, options include pasrur malai tikka, which is chicken kebab with creamy cheese, lemon juice and coriander; and galauti kebab, which is lamb kebab.

The lunch special is priced at $9++ (with coffee, tea or soft drink, until Thursday) for a main course from a special lunch menu featuring Greek or Indian cuisine. For dinner, opt for the Alexander Platter for two ($48++) or four ($88++, photo 2). The platters feature fish tikka, malai tikka and chicken souvlaki and served with pita bread and tzatziki.

3. GOOD OLD DAYS

The 260-seat Good Old Days restaurant serves local food with both buffet and a la carte options.

Pick from the combo sets including Singapore laksa ($11.80, photo 3), Singapore chicken rice ($13.80) and Hainanese chicken cutlet ($13.80). All come with a soft drink.

Other menu highlights include beef hor fun ($11.80), chicken briyani ($9.80), glutinous rice ($9.80) and mee goreng ($9.80). Side dishes include chicken satay ($7.80 for six sticks) and rojak ($6.80).

The menu also features children's meals ($9.80), teatime sets ($5.80, 2 to 5pm) and a North Indian vegetarian set.

Until June 30, the buffet is priced at $20 nett (adult, usual price is $24 nett) and $15 nett (children aged three to 12 years old, usual price is $20 nett).

4. SUPER SIMPLE

Eating right does not have to be complicated.

Super Simple offers customisable meal-boxes (from $8.90) with a choice of protein, complex carbohydrates and supplements. Options include salmon (photo 4), asparagus, pumpkin, sweet potatoes and tomatoes.

Prices for ribeye-steak boxes start at $9.90.

This takeaway place is run by chef Jasper Jek, who has worked at restaurants such as Restaurante Martin Berasategui in San Sebastian and Joel Robuchon Restaurant at Resorts World Sentosa.

5. BAKERY BRERA

Bakery Brera offers artisan breads made with fine flours from France and Japan.

Options include croissant ($2.80), baguette ($2.80), ciabatta ($2.50 or $3.90), pain aux cereales ($3.90), walnut and cranberry ($3.90 or $6.90), cinnamon roll ($2.50), pain au levain ($3.90 or $6.90) and pain au chocolat ($3.30).

For Easter, it sells hot cross buns with cranberry, cinnamon, currant, raisin and orange peel ($6 for a pack of four).

Sourdough pizzas are also available for takeaway (noon to 6pm daily, order at least one hour in advance). Highlights include margherita ($16); salami ($18, photo 5); and the gourmet special ($22) with buffalo mozzarella, gorgonzola, Parma ham, figs and walnuts.
