Could pop stardom be on the cards for female staff of Japanese credit-card company Credit Saison? According to a report in The Telegraph, 24 of the company's employees were seen prancing, dancing and singing on the streets of Tokyo recently. The group, following in the dance steps of all-singing, all-dancing Japanese ensembles such as AKB48, is called Higashi Ikebukuro 52, after the location of Credit Saison's headquarters on the 52nd floor of a complex in Tokyo's Higashi Ikebukuro district. The women are a marketing ploy by the company, reportedly the third biggest credit-card issuer in Japan, to attract new business. Their voices have been immortalised on a CD that is linked to the company's loyalty-rewards scheme.
